1. Admissions
1.1 All dogs must complete a meet and greet prior to their first booking
1.2 At Maison Pooch your dog will be socialising with other dogs. Owners must accept the reasonable risks associated with multiple dog socialisation. If your dog is responsible for causing injury to another dog then you are liable for any associated costs.
1.3 We strongly recommend that male dogs are neutered. This is to reduce possible competition and tension between dogs.
1.4 We accept unspayed females but when in season they may not be able to attend.
1.5 We reserve the right to exclude any dog displaying undesirable behavior.
2. Feeding
2.1 All dogs must be fed with food supplied by the owner.
2.2 All food will be served in stainless steel bowls provided by Maison Pooch.
2.3 All bowls will be sterilsed after each meal.
2.4 During mealtimes dogs will be separated and supervised. At no time will dogs be left unattended during eating.
2.5 Fresh drinking water will always be made available in stainless steel bowls.
2.6 No dogs will be exercised within 1 hour of eating.
3.Cleaning
3.1 All dog beds are supplied by Maison Pooch.
3.2 Beds are cleaned and hoovered weekly.
3.3 Bedding & blankets are also washed at 90 degrees.
3.4 The Maison Pooch Dog House has wood flooring which is vacuumed and disinfected daily.
3.5 Urine and/or dog waste is cleaned up immediately and the area disinfected.
3.6 Dog waste is disposed of in Council dog waste bins. No waste is to be placed in the black bin at the property.
3.7 Bowls will be sterilized daily.
4.Transport
4.1 Dog will be transported to and from Maison Poochby their owners.
5.Disease Control Prevention
5.1 All dogs staying with Maison Poochwill have received their initial puppy core vaccines. They will then be routinely vaccinated or Titer tested. Both of these are accepted by Maison Pooch.
5.2 Every 3 years records will be checked to ensure they are up to date.
5.3 Any dog showing signs of illness will be immediately assessed and if required veterinary treatment given in consultation with owners.
5.4 Should treatment be required this will be recorded in the medical register held with Maison Pooch.
5.5 Medication will only be administered under the direction of the vet.
5.6 Records of the veterinary visit will be held and provided to the owners.
5.7 Areas where the dog has been will be cleaned and disinfected.
5.8 Should the dog require isolating an area will be made available to ensure the dogs welfare and medical needs are met to the highest standard.
5.9 All other dogs will be kept away from the dog until such time it has recovered.
5.10 Outside areas will be cleaned and disinfected.
5.11 The dog/s will be walked alone and any dog waste cleaned up immediately.
5.12 Any signs of an infestation of fleas or ticks will be dealt with in consultation with the owners.
5.13 All Maison Pooch staff will be certified in the administration of pet first-aid.
6. Fire & Flood Emergency Plan
6.1 In the event of a fire or flood all dogs will be immediately be removed from the property either via the 2 main exits or by windows.
6.2 Smoke detectors are located in Maison Pooch Dog House. These are checked at regular intervals.
6.3 In the event of a fire the emergency services will be called and dogs removed to the neighboring field to the westside of the property, which is fully enclosed.
6.4 A fire extinguisher is located in the Maison Pooch dog house.
6.5 Owners will be contacted after the situation is stabilized.
6.6 In the event of a flood effecting the Maison Pooch Dog House dogs will be removed to the neighboring field and/or housed in the main property.
7.Extreme weather conditions
7.1 The Maison Pooch dog house is equipped with anair-conditioning unit and under natural shade. The dog house will be kept at a comfortable temperature at all times.
7.2 Should the air-conditioning unit fail and the temperature rise or fall to an uncomfortable temperature, dogs will be moved to the main house.
8.Death of a Dog
8.1 Should a dog fall ill during its stay with Maison Pooch, owners will be contacted and Maison Pooch will take the dog to the vet or the Vet will be called out.
8.2 The Vet will then assess the condition of the dog and speak with the owner who will then discuss the treatment plan. Should treatment no longer be appropriate the owner will give the Vet permission to have the dog put to sleep and Maison Poochwill stay with the dog during this process to ensure the dog is comfortable and provide support.
9.Dog Escapes
9.1 Maison Pooch takes security of the dogs and the outside area extremely seriously.
9.2 The enriched paddock is secured with stock fencing 4.5 feet high.
9.3 Maison Pooch will always assess each dog on an individual basis and this is done during the meet and greet process and during their initial visit.
9.4 Dogs at risk of running away will always be kept on the lead either by the owners request or at the request of Maison Pooch.
9.5 Should a dog escape an immediate area search will take place and Maison Pooch will contact the owner.
9.6 Maison Pooch will then contact their insurance company to make them aware of the situation.
9.7 The Dog Warden will be informed and all local vets and kennels.
9.8 The search will continue until the dog is found and then a review will then take place to determine why the dog escaped and how this can be prevented in the future.
10.Ensuring Animal Welfare
10.1 Maison Pooch will ensure the welfare of any dog under its care.
10.2 Exercise and feeding will be discussed and any anxiety or issues the dogs may have.
10.3 In most cases dogs will be walked every day and be allowed to use the enriched paddock multiple times
10.4 Dogs will be observed for signs of distress or illness.
10.5 Owners are kept updated via Whats App or text during their dogs stay to let them know how their dog is doing and discuss any issue that may arise.
10.6 Any dog suffering from signs of illness will be taken to a vet and the owners will be contacted and the treatment plan will be discussed with the vet then facilitated by Maison Pooch
